Thank you card

Hi
I have been busy making some thank you cards in readiness for Christmas.

I can safely do this as there are already several presents under our tree, so I know I will need some.

Here is my first card:-

This is simply kraft and white card which I think is very classy, do you?

This is my second card:-

This was created by masking a section off, then using distress inks for the background and stamped image.

We will miss you - kraft card with subtle white stamping

I made this card for a friend who is moving away.

I couldn't resist using the crazy bird stamps again, so I simply used one as an accent - I stamped and coloured him before cutting him out and attaching him to the card, with his bowler hat.

Apart from the white stamping and crazy bird all the embellishments were made using dies from Sue Wilson. I think the result is very pleasing, hope you do also.

This is the final piece of home decor I have to show you at the moment.

It is for my newly decorated bathroom, and matches the piece of home decor in my last post. I am very happy with it.

Home decor - number three

Hi

We recently redecorated our bathroom in shades of white, dark grey and black.

So it was another opportunity for me to create a piece of home decor using my existing stash and an inexpensive frame purchased from a well known Swedish store .

This time I used a black frame and used bright colours to compliment the coloured accessories in the bathroom.  I hope you like it

Home decor - number one

Hi

I am, like most of you I am sure,  always trying to find new uses for the dies and papers I have.  So needing some art for my home I decided to see what I could do.

Making use of some inexpensive frames I already had ( bought from a large Swedish store) have created four pictures which I will share with you in the next few posts:-

This is the first picture I made, quite subtle I think.

 I am very happy with it and have it hanging on the wall in my craft room.

 Hi everyone

Today I would like to share with you a card I made some time ago which I am very pleased with.

I had used my sewing machine, so before I put it away I thought I would try some sewing onto a card front, something that I have had in mind for a while .

I used craft card for the card base and did my sewing onto a white mat using complimentary colours .

I think the result is very pleasing - do you?

card with inspirational sentiment inspired by card-io stamps

Hello

I do like the type of cards created with Card-it stamps, so I decided to have a go using stamps I already own.

I used a white card base, then a mat of pink pearl card, topped with a white mat which I stamped upon using several delicate stamps.
After stamping in black I coloured some little flowers in pink to match the outer mat, glued on some pink beads, then finished with an inspirational message from  Visible Image.
I am happy with the result, hope you like this

Spellbinders Victorian medallion die

I was lucky to win this die in a competition run by Spellbinders ambassador Christine Emberson on her blog - Creativity Continues.

As soon as I received the die I had to have a play -here are my first attempts using this beautiful die set.

This card was very simple - I just allowed the medallion die to do all the work.

I  used the same die,  folded in two -  as a hinge at the top of this card.  The front is  acetate, then I simply embellished with a bow and button, and added a sentiment.

Do you spot the deliberate mistake? - the patterned card is upside down!!!!!!

Bird crazy card - accessories, number four

Hi

This card was made in the same way as the previous one - the background was created with Brusho paints

 I know someone who would love this , and it would be useful for many occasions .

Although I will use these stamps again, I  will show you some different cards in the next few posts.

Bird crazy card - accessories, number three

Today's card is similar to the previous two, except the background was created with Brusho paints.  This gives a brighter, bolder background.
 I am pleased with the overall card, however I was unable to lighten the colour inside of the water dropletts with a water brush as you can with distress inks.

Overall I am quite pleased with the result, and it gave me another opportunity to use the crazy accessory stamps.  I will redo this card with a distress ink background sometime.

Bird crazy card - accessories, number two

Bird crazy card - accessories, number one

I am totally in love with these crazy bird stamps, and had to have the crazy things accessory stamps to go with them.
I find it very relaxing to stamp a few, then cut them out and colour them in.

To make this card I created a background with peacock feathers and faded jeans distress inks.
I over stamped with a foliage stamp and my new raindrop stamp from Inkylicious.

This raindrop stamp is very effective, and I simply painted each drop with a water brush, blotted to remove some of the colour,  then highlighted with a white pen.

I stamped then cut out the bird and accessories and coloured with Promarkers before glueing them onto the card front.

I completed the card with a sentiment created on my computer, before matting onto cerise card.

I am enjoying these stamps so much that I  have made more which I will post soon.

I think I "need" the matching dies, so have put them on my Christmas list (keeping my fingers crossed)

A simple card using neutral colours

This card is one of my favourites

I used some paper from my stash to cover the card base,  then added a die cut shape in complimentary colours and distressed the edges before adding a strip of brown card and some lace.

I added  a sentiment, some handmade flowers with card candi centres, and a little butterfly which I stamped and coloured before dipping in UTEE.

As I said, this is one of my favourite cards and I  have made many versions over the years

Stamping with water colour pens

Today I  want to share a card with stamping using Aquamarkers.

I used a craft card blank, and mounted a panel which I ran through an embossing folder then sanded back to give a distressed hessian look.

I cut a panel for the centre of my card from some hammered effect card, then distressed it with inks.

I coloured directly onto my stamp using several colours of Aquamarkers,  then lightly spritzed with water before stamping onto the panel.

I completed the card with a ribbon.

It is possible to get several impressions from the stamp by simply spritzing  with water again - each stamping getting slightly fainter.  This still looks effective.

A pretty card for any occasion

Today I decided to use stamping on my card  - I think this card could be used for many occasions, simply by adding a different sentiment .

I covered a 7 by 5 inch card blank with a grey and white spotted paper.
Then I stamped  and coloured two floral panels before mounting them onto  grey and pink card.
I added a sentiment and some buttons - this was a little different for me - hope you like this

A simple 'hello' card using Sissix alphabet dies

This card was an experiment for me.  I had just taken delivery of some Sizzix alphabet dies and needed to experiment - here is the result.

This is how I made it:

• I covered a card blank with black card, then striped paper.
• I drew the funky flowers freehand , coloured them with Promarkers before adding glossy accents then cutting this into a rectangle .
• I placed the word 'hello' (using Sizzix alphabet dies) onto black card, taped them down, and sandwiched them between my die cutting plates, leaving a small portion at the bottom of each letter off the edge of the cutting mat.  This resulted in the bottom of each letter stil attached to the black card.
• I cut between the letters with a sharp knife, then made the rest of the card into a mat for the funky flowers.

It took a little time to get this right, but I am pleased with it.

Crazy Bird Christmas card

Today I want to share with you a Christmas card using one of the Tim Holtz Crazy bird stamps

I have enjoyed using these stamps so decided to adapt one for a Christmas card.
I stamped a random pattern onto craft card in brown and white, before embellishing with hessian and lace then adding a sentiment.
I coloured the bird with Promarkers and added to the card.  I am pleased with this and hope you like it

A bright birthday card

Today I  want to share, with you, a card which recently  made friend.

I began with a piece of yellow card which I  mounted onto black, then onto an eight by eight card blank.

I stamped  the card in yellow,  orange and a subtle red, using random stamps, then spritzed with red ink.

I stamped a narrow border, added a sentiment,  then glued this to the bottom of the card with a black scalloped border.  I finished with a black flourish die cut, some black spiders web and  yellow die cut  butterflies.

I completed this with a sentiment in complimentary colours. I was pleased with the result -  these colours would be good for a Halloween card , what do you think?

A pretty birthday card using a Spellbinders die

Hello again
Today I would like to share with you a card which  was very simple to make because most of the card was made with die from Spellbinders. The die was  Nestabilities Labels 47.

I wanted to make this card in muted colours, but was struggling to find a taupe colour in my stash.  Luckily my sister had give me a roll of wallpaper which had the exact colour I was looking for so I used this and it worked a treat - don't you think? 

The flower was made from velum, and once assembled, I painted it with pearl paint

Clean and simple get well card using Sizzix dies

Hello all
Today I would like to show you a get well card.
Having just treated myself to some new dies from Sizzix, I just had to try some of them out.

I cut a strip of  the Tim Holtz confetti striplet die and backed it fushia pink then edged it with another striplet called Vintage lace.

I made the flower with the Sizzix Gerbera die from the Susan's Garden range, distressing the edges with seedless preserves distress ink.

I enjoyed using these dies, so decided to try something else.  I made some napkin rings for a dinner party we are having next week. I used the same dies and similar colours to match my table colour scheme.

Homemade holder for my glasses

Welcome
I wear glasses for long and short vision, so many times I put a pair down and can never find them when I need them.
Today I thought I would show you a holder I made for my glasses, which I made so I would always know where to find them.

• I began by making the carcass using mount board which I joined together with masking tape, and included a division to ensure my two pairs of glasses were separate.
• Then I painted the whole thing with matt black acrylic paint.
• I decorated each side with papers to match my décor - these are from a stash of Teresa Collins papers, then I added embellishments.
• Finally I lined the two compartments with black felt to ensure the glass lenses remain scratch free.
• I have found this very useful, and will be making a larger one to hold glasses and TV remote controls

Another card using Brusho crystal paints (part two) -using a Crazy Bird stamp again

Today I would like to show you my second attempt with Brusho crystals

1. This time I used yellow  and turquoise Brusho crystals, in the same way I showed in my last post. 
2. I  stamped a Crazy Bird from the Tim Holt set of stamps, then coloured  it in with Promarkers before cutting it out.
3. I mounted the bird on my chosen painted panel with foam pads, adding green feathers for the tail and the tuft on it's head.
4. I finished with some jewels and a sentiment which I printed on the laptop.

Birthday card using Brush crystal colour paints (part one)

I have recently treated myself to some Brusho crystal colour paints.
I am still experimenting with them, but I would like to show you my first attempt.

I

I used water colour paper, which I spritzed  with water before sprinkling sparingly with red and yellow crystals.
I spritzed with water again, then left the panel to dry.
I selected the area I liked best, then cut this out before stencilling through a mask in black.
I outlined the stencil in white pen then mounted this on black card.
I cut three butterflies from a scrap of the coloured card, then glued them on and added black Pearl dots for the bodies, and finished with a stamped sentiment.

Clean and simple 'hello' card

Today's card is a quick and simple card using a letterpress technique

This was very easy to make:

• Simply ink up an embossing folder with your chosen colour distress ink (I used pink)
• Insert a piece of white card into the embossing folder and run through your die cutting machine (mine is a Big Shot plus)
• The ink is transferred to the card as you can see (this is letterpressing)
• As my card blank is the same colour as the embossed letterpress panel I sat the piece of embossed card onto a white panel which I cut using my Crealies stitched rectangles so that it would stand out from the card base
• I used a smaller stitched rectangle to sit the sentiment on, then added the 'hello' word which is  raised with funky foam.
• Very quick to make. Hope you like this

Homemade Gift Tags

I don't know about you but I always seem to be in need of gift tags, so I decided to spend a few hours making a some so I had a choice when I needed them.  Here is a selection

• I started by hand cutting some tags in white, then spritzing them in black ink in a random pattern
• When dry I mounted the white tags onto some slightly larger coloured card
• Then decorated as you can see above
•  I tried to keep the embellishments to black plus the colour of the tag base
• Here are some close ups:

 

I actually used one today, here is the wrapped present with the tag.  I think the tags finishes it off beautifully, and now I have a supply ready for another occasion

Clean and Simple 'Best Wishes' card

There are times when we all need a simple card that would suit many occassions.  This card takes only a little time to make:

 

• To make this card simply cut a strip of patterned paper to fit along the bottom of the card.
•  Choose two complimentary coloured strips and glue above the patterned paper.  I cut mine with my Crealies stitched rectangle dies. 
• Finish the top of the card with a white piece of card, and add a flower (Spellbinders die) and a die cut 'Best Wishes' sentiment.

Card to welcome a new baby

Hello

Today I would like to share with you a card I have recently made to welcome a new baby.

• I stamped, then coloured (with Promarkers), a sweet teddy bear.
• After carefully cutting out the teddy I glued it onto a cream stitched rectangle which I diecut with a Crealies die.
• The stitched balloons were diecut using a free die I recently got with a magazine then glued onto the front.
• I then drew lines to look as if the teddy was holding the bunch of balloons.
• The 'baby' word was cut using Tim Holtz alphabet dies then glued to each balloon.
• I completed the card with little stitched scallops along the bottom of the stitched panel, then glued this onto the card base
• The card base is in cream and is seven by five inches.

Crazy Bird stamps by Stampers Anonymouse (part four) - Congratulations card

Hello again

My great nieces have successfully passed their school exams recently, so I was asked to make them a card to congratulate them.

As they are twins I wanted to make them similar (but not exactly the same) cards so simply chose two colour schemes.

 

Well done girls

 

I used Promarkers to colour the birds, then fussy cut them.

 

The balloons were die cut from coloured card in complimentary colours.

 

Everything was raised on foam pads to give dimension, then I finished with several coloured

beads

Crazy Bird stamps from Stampers Anonymous (part three)

Hi todays card is a thank you card using shrink plastic and the Crazy Bird stamps:

I wanted to see how the little birds looked against a colourful background, so I used the largest size of my Crealies stitched rectangles to make five strips in bright colours.

I glued the strips to black card making sure to leave a little gap as shown, and glued this to a square card blank.

Then I cut a Sizzex striplet die from black card and glued this across the bottom of the card, then perched a little Crazy Bird on top (this was stamped onto shrink plastic, then coloured with pencils - as were those on my two previous posts).

The 'thanks' was cut using a Lawn Fawn die.  I glued some leftover scraps of coloured paper onto white card and cut out the thanks from this.  I also cut four more thanks in white card and glued them together to give the word some depth.

I hope this gives you some ideas for using these stamps.  I will be back in a week or so

Crazy Bird stamps from Stampers Anonymous (part two)

Hello again

I have another card to show you today, using the Crazy Bird stamps and shrink plastic.
These stamps are so versatile, and I am sure I will find many uses for them.  I call my card:

Hang in There

This is self explanitory, just three birds hanging upside down on the branch of a tree.

The birds were stamped onto shrink plastic, then coloured in with pencils before shrinking with a heat gun.

I sat the birds onto a scrap of green patterned paper, the branch and foliage were cut using a Sue Wilson die.

The sentiment was produced on my computer and edged in black and green, then the card was finished with a few black liquid pearl dots - simples.

Crazy Bird stamps from Stampers Anonymous (part one)

I have been having a lot of fun lately - colouring in my new Crazy Bird stamps from Stampers Anonymous.

I have coloured in several of the birds with blendable pencils and several with permanent pens - they seem to need vibrant colours.

At the moment I am stamping and colouring (with pencils) onto shrink plastic and I am very pleased with the results.

Happy Bird-Day - Card number one

This was a very simple card to make - just using a message produced on my computer, and three assorted colourful birds.

A little bird told me it's your birthday - Card number two

I really like this card, made also with two crazy birds which were stamped onto shrink plastic. 

I made the balloons using a free die from a magazine.  I cut them from funky foam to make my own stamp, stuck this onto a clear stamp block, then stamped with distress inks onto shrink plastic with colours which coordinate with the backing paper.

Hello, Hello - double trouble, two cards using a Chocolate Baroque magnolia stamp

Hi

When I sit down to make a card for a specific occasion I will often make two cards the same.

This gives me the opportunity to build up a stash of cards to use at short notice and/or to try out the card in two colours.

Here is my latest card - I am very pleased with the result.

I started by stamping with my latest stamp, which is magnolia by Chocolate Baroque, onto copy paper and fussy cut carefully around the image to make a mask.

Then I stamped the magnolia stamp onto white card, placed the mask on top, and overstamped with an Indigoblu stamp called honeycomb.

I used Promarkers in bold colours for the magnolia, and in muted colours for the randomly selected honeycomb cells.

I cut the image out using my Crealies stitched rectangle die, then mounted this onto a compatible colour then onto white card, then I wrapped matching ribbon around this.

For the background I stamped with several complimentary colours randomly over a piece of 5 by 7 inch card, then mounted this onto the card base.

I attached the magnolia image and used my Lawn Fawn 'hello' die and some matching beads to complete the card.

I am very happy with both cards (not sure which I prefer), I hope you like them

Elephant Birthday Card

Today I would like to show you a birthday card which, I think, would be suitable for almost anyone - young or old.

The card base is 6 inches square, so I cut four pieces of striped card (Anne Marie Designs) each measuring 2 and 3/4 inches square, and attached them as shown using double sided tape.

The image is a Little Claire mini stamp which I coloured with Promarkers, then cut out with my Crealies stitched rectangles die.  I also used the Crealies dies to cut the rectangle with the sentiment.

A fun card - do you think?

Male Birthday card

Our eldest grandson was 25 recently - we do wonder where all the years have gone!
This is the card I made for his birthday :

I covered the card base with craft card and some chevron paper from my stash.

The watch was made by running a spellbinders clock face die (retro mod clocks) through the big shot, then embossing it and inking the raised areas - I sat this on a gold circle and covered it with resin.

I placed this on a brown paper strip which I had run through a sizzix embossing folder to look like  a leather strap.

The cars were cut from art board with a movers and shapers die then rubbed back to show the copper core.

I finished with an Avery Elle 'happy' die and a sizzix striplet for the 'birthday'.

The finished card is 7 x 5 inches.
